Why Don't All Teams Employ Shooting Coaches?

A good question on the surface.  A shooting coach should radically improve a team's/player's scoring percentage, BUT only FT%'s improve and only by 10% or less.  

Not really a good ROI (Return On Investment).

Why Just Free Throws?

Shooting mechanics, taught by other coaches, can always help improve FTs, but only by a few percentage points. If the mechanics of these 'gurus' worked, it would be reflected in all shooting percentages.  

IT IS NOT. 

Being a good shooter doesn't make someone a good teacher.

Teaching the brain to shoot, improves shots from all over the court and vanquishes distractions. 

Game distractions are the culprit for poor shooting performance.  

SHOT MECHANICS CANNOT FIX GAME DISTRACTIONS! 

Being 'In-The-Zone' eliminates game distractions!  Knowing how to enter 'the-zone' fixes the dilemma of game distractions!

Why aren't other 'shooting specialists' more successful? 

High level players they coach have taken hundreds of thousands, maybe even a million shots.  

Attempting to change/alter/tweak/adjust the form [mechanics] of these shooters is akin pounding square pegs into round holes.

Changing/altering/tweaking/adjusting a players' mind is much more effective and elegant [when one knows how].

All Players Have Their Favorite Shots.

What makes these shots favorites?  They go in.  These are the game shots players should be taking, their favorite shots.

A team's goal is getting players open for their favorite shots.  If those shots are contested by a mismatch then they're really not contested are they?  This is called running an offense.

The more favorite shots players have the more offensive options that team has. 

If a player's unable to shoot uncontested practice 3s at a 70% to 80% clip that player should not be shooting in game 3s.

All NBA players should be able to shoot uncontested 3s at a 70% to 80% clip.
